printer queue
Hi,
I have just set up a wireless network, earlier today my wife had selected 20 pages one by one from the internet to be printed, she selected each page one by one and selected print before browsing for the next page and selecting print for that. This win98 PC is downstairs and the HP 2600n printer is upstairs via a 3com wireless router. For the second time in a week the documents did not print and I discovered that in control panel printers properties details print to the following port, that the white box was empty. I clicked on "capture printer port" and upstairs/printer5 was correctly inserted in the box and I was able to print a test word doc okay. I am puzzled as to why the port selected has "dropped out" twice for no reason, and when I look at printers properties details, I see that the upstairs/printer5 under "print to the following port" is highlighted brown instead of being black print on a white background. I can close the properties box and as it is just closing the print to the following port entry "upstairs/printer5" does change from brown to white, but, when I open printers properties details again the upstairs/printer5 has been highlighted brown again. Any ideas, Steve |
