Al Dykes
I'm reinstallin w/98SE on an old IBM Aptiva. The drivers don't
seem to be on 98SE disk. The machine was running 98SE decently,
so somewhere there's a driver that works.
The machine is an IBM Aptiva model 2156 HWinfo says it's got a
SiS 86c201 VGA Chipset on themotherboard.
Can someone tell me...

Looking for VGA drivers for SiS 86c201 Chipset (IBM Aptiva mod 2156) by
Al Dykes
I'm reinstalling w/98 on an Aptiva mod 2156 system. The VGA drivers
don't seem to be on the 98SE distro. The IBM download site has no VGA
drivers, for 98, or 95 for that matter, for this machine.
The machine was running 98SE with good video (but otherwise screwed
up) before I reisnatlled, so VGA...

Virtual Memory. by

I am shortly going to upgrade my PC from 512k to 1 meg of RAM. I know about
the vcache setting and will create that when necessary. However, I set the
Virtual Memory manually as I have been advised in the past that this is the
best thing to do. At present both options are set to 512k (520) to...

I modified VCACHE using the edit function in MSCONFIG for the system.ini.
The change worked but when I go back in and read it, just before the

I have a problem with the latest engine ( 5.0.00 ) running on my PC. I have

I need to check some files/registry entries with others running the same

Hosts Folder by
Alan
In trying to resolve some problems on my Win 98 SE machine, on more than one
occasion I have been advised to check the contents of the "Hosts" file.
Therein lies the problem, I don't have one! Should there always be a Hosts
file or only in some instances.
Thanks

Try stretching the small window to full size. (Do not use Maximize)
Ensure that window is the last one closed and IE should remember the
size next time.
