windows cannot find iexplorer.exe
Something very wacky is going on. I was using Internet explorer when all of
a sudden it closed up, and message that windows cannot find iexplorer.exe showed up. Down in the shortcut try, the icon has changed from the 'e' to what looks like an executable file. When I hover over it with the mouse, dw15.exe shows as the name. what the heck????? |

windows cannot find iexplorer.exe
I'm still at a loss to explain what happened, but I found article 299294
shows how to recover it. I was able to do this by using the windows\options\install (tip from Mike the other day about use this path instead of the WinME CD ... thanks Mike) but the quick launch still doesnt show the 'e'. I'm going to reboot and see what happens. "Donna" wrote in message ... Something very wacky is going on. windows cannot find iexplorer.exe
Why not change the Properties of the icon to use IE?
Right-click it and select Properties and enter "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" as the Target. ....Alan -- Alan Edwards, MS MVP Windows - Internet Explorer http://dts-l.org/index.html On Sat, 10 Dec 2005 21:59:12 -0500, "Donna" wrote: Well, I can launch IE from the desktop, but the icon in the quick launch still shows an executable file icon (DW15.exe) any ideas for me? thanks "Donna" wrote in message ...
