2nd Hard Drive Problem
Hi all, I have a machine with Win XP and a 60 gb hard drive, I used Partition
Magic and installed Win 98se on a different partition and everything went great, both o/s work fine. I had a second 60 gb hard drive that I unplugged before creating the partition, I shut down computer, plugged 2nd drive in. I booted 1st to win xp. The second drive showed up as it should. I then booted to the 98 partition, opened up "My Computer" and it shows "Win98 (C then (D then (E and F & G being my cd/rw and dvd/rw. Neither D or E are accessible, a dialog box pops up saying D:\ is not accessible. A device attached to the system is not functioning, also does the same thing for E although E should not even be there. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. |

Check the detail of the partitioning on the new drive, as odd partition
types can confuse W98. PM should be able to provide exact details of the partitions. -- Jeff Richards MS MVP (Windows - Shell/User) "Jeff S" wrote in message ... I found that the 2nd drive was NTFS, I converted it to FAT32, all is good
now. Thanks "Jeff Richards" wrote: Check the detail of the partitioning on the new drive, as odd partition types can confuse W98.
