HELP! start.exe disabled..

I have a problem. When I go to start/Programs and try to
open one of the files a little dos window shows up and is
gone faster than a bleep. I believe it is a dos
window...it's black like a dos window, but it disappears
so fast I can't see what it reads. I think my start.exe
is disabled...but when I try to fix anything that little
dos screen shows up so I'm unable to anything. I can open
my Explorer but not Outlook Express. I can't open any of
microsoft programs like Word. I'm sure it's a simple
fix....I'M HOPING! Can anyone help me? Feel free to

I've been working on this problem and finally got rid of
the dos window popping up. Now when I try to open an
application like Outlook Express a box comes up saying
Windows Cannot find start.exe
This program is needed for opening files of
type 'Application'

I've tried to find it...but I can't. I still need HELP!
Please! Anyone?

If it is the computer you are using now, download

to your desktop, right-click it and select "Install".

You may have a hijacker program named Secret-Crush:

Follow the manual removal instructions to determine if it is your problem.

It would help if you let us know what you have done so far, to get rid of the DOS
window.

Also, take a look in the Windows\Command folder, as there should be a valid file
named Start.exe there (though you do not need it to run executable files).

Post back with what you have done, and found, and what your results are.
