Default Display 'grainy' like safe mode

Me again. Had to use the rescue disks and now the screen
display is grainy, like its in safe mode, but its not.
Also boxes etc are not lining up properly but off centred
and not sitting/fitting right, and there's too much info
on the page, so I have to scroll sideways back and forth
to read it. Any ideas, please.

Best guess you need to change your Display Properties:
ControlPanel/Display/Settings

Increase both Screen Resolution and Colour Depth.

Then right-click on the Desktop, choose
ArrangeIcons/whatever.

800x600 it will not stay there but reverts back as above.
Any ideas???

How about Removing the Default Monitor from DeviceManager and rebooting,
Windows should pick it up and install the right one.

Reboot to Safe Mode
Open Device Manager
Remove ALL Display Adapters
Remove ALL Monitors
Reboot to Normal Mode - Windows will reinstall the required drivers -
hopefully curing your problem.
