Default Power on

Is there a way to boot a computer running Windows 98 automatically after a
power failure remotely? There would be no one present where the computer is
located.
Thank you,

If the pc has the required settings in BIOS yes, look in the bios for the
action on power, and action on modem signal settings

This has nothing to do with W98, since it's not running at that moment.
And yes, it is possible.

Wake on Lan. When the system is attached to a lan, and the bios and NIC
support it, you can wakeup a computer via LAN, by running some software on
another computer attached to that LAN.

Wake on Ring. When the bios supports it, you can wakeup a computer at ring
signal of an (extern) serial modem. So you phone to the modem, and the PC
awakes.

You can also enable 'Power on after power failure' or something like that
in bios, then the system will automatically reboot after failure.

By the way, you'll have to disable scandisk in C:\msdos.sys, else you'll
still have to go to hit enter.
Wake On Lan should work over VPN too.

Hi,

Check your BIOS for the setting. Probably listed under Power Management
Options or similar category.
