Default TWO copies of explorer

| Explorer.exe 4.72.3110.1 Microsoft Corporation Windows Explorer
| C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.exe 4.0 Microsoft(R) Windows NT(R) Operating System
| Explorer.exe 4.72.3110.1 Microsoft Corporation Windows Explorer
| C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.exe 4.0 Microsoft(R) Windows NT(R) Operating System

You didn't get those from "Startup Programs". You got them from "Running Tasks". Note how the following from... "START button, Run, MSInfo32, Software Environment, Startup Programs" identifies it's origin in the Startup Group...
Dr. Watson Startup Group C:\WINDOWS\DRWATSON.EXE

Do you have any Explorer in the Startup Group?
Did you ever run the virus scan?

Odd, though, I can't seem to get more than one Explorer in Running Tasks, even opening 3 of them! I wonder how you are getting two there!

Thanks or Good Luck,
There may be humor in this post, and,
Naturally, you will not sue,
should things get worse after this,

| | Might as well post your Startup Group... "START button, Run, MSInfo32,
| | Software Environment, Startup Programs". Use the EDIT menu to do so. Do
| you
| | see Explorer mentioned in the Command column? Normally, you won't! But,
| | really...
| |
| | **
| | Nope - no explorer.
| |
| | But why the two as mentioned in previous posts?
|
| Use MSInfo32's Edit menu to post the TWO items of which you speak. Hold
| CTRL
| as you click them to highlight. Then, Edit menu, Copy.
|
| **
| Here they are, using your sukggested method. BTW the two lines were next to
| each other almost at the bottom of the list. (they were followed by the
| msinfo32.exe which was last.)

| BETTER go run that McAfee scan! It won't hurt! It's not as if you are
| installing McAfee!

| I think it will not effect a cure, but only report.

| Will effect a cure for certain viruses only.

| Have not forgotten you - just have not gotten the two explorers again as
| yet.
|
| Will follow your instructions.
