Default NO OPERATING SYSTEM FOUND

This problem statrted outof no where. The computer froze, then when rebooted
I got this message.
I tried using my Windows startup floppy and do a SYS C--no help. Scandisk
says no problems found.
Also, I put in my Windows disk alone and it of course brings me to the
windows install/setup screen and says there already is an OS on the computer
and if i continue the config.sys and autoexec.bat files will be replaced.
Should I do that? Will I lose everything on my hard drive?
HELP!

This can be done without losing anything. Do it just like a new
instalation with your start up floppy and make sure it installs into
the same folder and not Windows001 or something like that. I have
done this 1 time to correct an Explorer problem 3mth ago and my
install date still shows 10/3/02.
Hope this helps.

Greg,

I don't think the startup floppy has the installation files, isn''t that
just for emergency reboots? Should I use the Windows 98 CD setup?
