Changing File Associations
When I installed Nero Burning it also installed Nero Media Player. (which I
don't want). Now when I try to play a WAV file Nero pops up saying I need to buy this program before it will play the file. I got rid of the program, but I can't change the association back to Windows Media player. Under "File Types", WAV files aren't listed. How in the heck do I edit the file association to get WAV files to play with Windows Media Player? |

Then select WMP: if not listed you can Browse to its location probably in \Program Files\WMP Leave the check box unchecked (Always use this program . . . ) Click and see if WMP plays your WAV OK. If so, repeat the process and this time check tbe box "Always use this program . . . " -- Don Phillipson Carlsbad Springs (Ottawa, Canada) |

If you no longer have NMP installed a "Open With" dialoge box with a list with programs should pop up when you doubleclick wav files. Selecting WMP (shows as wmplayer in my list) in the list and checking the "Always use ..." checkbox. Else open WMP and check options/preferences for where you specify what filetypes should be associated with the program. Check .wav in that list and ok your way out. -- Please followup in newsgroup.
