Default Sound problem after replaced Mainboard

Dear,

I had most incident before, Everytime, the Main board has been replaced,
Sound-system Driver is been installed. But there is no any playable device
in the list of "Multimedia" of Control Panel. So, my Windows 98 (SE) doesn't
has any Audio-device!

Do you have the same problem after replaced another Main board
(difference model)? I don't wanna re-install the Windows!! : (

If you are replacing the mainboard with a different model, and it has on-board
sound, AND you are not formatting and reinstalling Windows....try this:

Uninstall any sound drivers you have listed in Add\Remove Programs.
Restart in Safe Mode:
-Start the computer and hold down the CTRL key till the Windows 98 Startup menu
(boot menu) appears.
-Use the arrow keys to select "Safe Mode" and press Enter.

In Safe Mode, open Device Manager, expand the categories, remove ALL instances of
any devices that are related to the mainboard....that means all System Devices; Hard
disk controllers and Floppy controllers; Sound, video and Game Controllers; and so
forth. If you have a video card and it is installed correctly, leave that alone.
In any other categories, if there are duplicates of a device listed, remove ALL
instances of that device also. Remove everything in the "Other" category, if it
exists. Then click OK and restart in normal mode, and reinstall any mainboard,
chipset, and sound drivers for the new board.
