Still No ICONs appear on taskbar when programs are minimized

No matter what program I minimize, no ICONs are added
to my taskbar located at the buttom of my screen. If I
hit CNTRL ALT DEL after minimizing the program, the
program is still running because it is listed in the
table. Or I can restore the program by using the ALT TAB
keys but cannot restore the program by clicking on an ICON
in the task bar because No ICON is present.

I have tried the following:
1) Restoring my register.
2) Some have suggested that I might have the
FriendGreeting Worm. However, I have run two different
virus checkers with updated virus definitions files and
neither commercial virus checker detected any viruses.

I have appreciated those who have taken the time to
respond to this issue in the past. Does anybody have a
solution to the above problem?

When you do the Vulcan 3 finger keyboard pinch
(CTRL+ALT+DEL) does Systray appear in the list? If not,
that may be the reason.

Have you added any software, or uninstalled any software
prior to this bit of nastiness?

Yes, the systray is listed in the task table after hitting=20
CNTR ALT DEL.
I'm not sure if new software has been loaded since that=20
time or not (and I wouldn't know what software packages=20
have been loaded since then). I'm not exactly sure how=20
long this problem has existed since my son discovered it=20
sometime ago. =20
