Could you make your question clearer? Like, do you have W98 or WinXP? What
does ctrl-alt-del have to do with a password? Are you referring to the
Windows Logon screen?

Before doing the below read everything below the asterisks.

Press Cancel when prompted for the username/pw to boot to Windows.
Click Start Find Folders/Files
In the named box type: *.pwl
Delete the one with your name
Reboot
*********************************************
If you still intend on having a PW then:
Although there are different ways to accomplish this, there is always a =
possibility that someone with some computer savvy can bypass them.
One way is to set a password in the bios if the option is available. =
Anyone that knows how to get into the BIOS and is familiar with them =
can easily remove the password unless the BIOS is password protected as =
well.=20
Another way to set a password is suggested he

MVP Doug Knox has a way on his site as well:
http://www.dougknox.com/=20
Click on Security Prevent Unauthorized Users from accessing your =
computer. Read the instructions fully, it is possible to lock yourself =
out of your own computer.

If you do not want a password any longer:
How to Prevent a Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows Me Logon Prompt at =
Startup

*Note: If you have user profiles this will not work as stated in the =
article and you will have to perform the steps in the link provided in =
the article for user profiles.
It has also been advised that you do not use the article Q135586, which =
has a link included in the article. Its purpose is "to clear the User =
Name logon box so it is blank each time you start Windows", it is not =
meant to prevent the logon box from prompting you for a name/password.
Instead if you have TweakUI installed, check to make sure the "Clear =
Last User At Logon" check box is not checked. Go to Start Settings =
Control Panel, double click Tweak UI, click the Paranoia tab, if the box =
is checked, uncheck it.
