I have Windows98 Second Edition. I installed a Kodak
CX6330 digital camera. The PC will not shut down with the software loaded. It will shut down as soon as the software is uninstalled. How do I fix the problem |

How do I fix the problem Stan, The common fix is StartRun and enter Msconfig. Under the General tab select Advanced and disable Fast Shutdown. However, in your case, the other is that a program loaded at startup is causing it, like a Norton AV feature. If the Kodak program loads at boot try disabling that part of it. Instead, start it with a shortcut when you need it. Check under the Startup tab in Msconfig to see what's loading. There is a shutdown patch, but many feel it's a last resort and it does not appear that you need it. If disabling Fast Shutdown is ghosted or not available then the patch has already been applied.
