Windows Media Player 9 Won't Install
I just updated from Windows 98 to Windows 98 SE. I specifically did it in order to be able to buy downloadable music online. Some of the sites require Media Player series 9, which requires at least 98 SE. I downloaded the version for use with Windows 98 SE. When I try to install it, the files extract fine and then I get the screen where you have to accept the license agreement. I accept it and it looks like it is going to install and then one of two things happens. I either get a little error window that says an internal application error occured and then the install process stops. Or, after I accept the license agreement, the old Windows Media Player 7.1 opens up.
I wouldn't think I have to uninstall 7.1 first, do I? Please, any help is appreciated. Also when I did the SE upgrade there were many files that I had to "Skip" during installation. The computer seems to boot up ok and applications seem to work ok. |

Version 10 is only for XP. I have Windows 98SE. There is a version 9
series that is supposed to work with that OS. "sf" wrote in message ... On Fri, 29 Oct 2004 22:29:15 -0400, "glee" wrote: Where are you getting Windows Media Player 9 to install? Get it from he http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...es/player.aspx 9 is now old... we're on to v10. |
