Mike, Thank you! Useful detail. Zee "Mike M" wrote in message ... The problem isn't with the nVidia drivers but rather with some recent versions of the installer used by nVidia. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP oops!! wrote: I'm aware of that issue in SOME systems. I'm running nVidia latest drivers for WinME (61.76) and did not have that problem. |

After a very long time, by trial and error I finally installed the prescribed driver (VIA Hyperion 4 in 1 ) The installation did not solve my problem (java screen freeze) All futher assistance will be gresatly appreciated. "Jack E Martinelli" wrote in message ... This may be a good place for Mike M to expand on his comment that installing the latest nVida graphic driver, under WinME, deprives the ability to create a new folder on a right click, or to select thumbnail view in explorer, or the abiliity to share. It appears the nVidia installer wipes out the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CLASSES\Directory registry key. Perhaps Mike will explain how to repair this key. -- Jack E. I feel we are speaking of different things!!! We were pointing you the updated driver for the nVidia Vanta card, you installed Via's 4 in 1, which is good, but seems unrelated to the questions/issues you have mentioned. Now you say you get a java screen freeze... What do you mean and where do you have the freeze? If it's in your browser (IE, Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape), download the latest Java plug-in: http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_automatic.jsp Zee "L. B. Keeton" wrote in message ...
