Question about harddisk format
Hi,
I have an HP Pavilion 6736 computer. OS is windows ME. Now I am trying to check and remove some virus maybe in the computer. I plan later to format/restore the system because I have tried once restore OS which results restoring programmes is a must. The computer came with several CDs. When the 1st CD runs, the first choice is format/restore. I have partitioned the hard disk to C and D two logical drives. There are some important data on drive D to me. The floppy disk is too small to make a backup. The CD drive is real-only. I am not sure when I select format/restore, will it format drive D also? BTW, there are two selection in the menu after the 1st CD boot the computer up. One is "Shell to dos", the other is "go to dos"(I translate it to English, because it is not a English version OS). Under both of the above selections the system does identify drive C and D. Thanks in advance. |
