It will work as long as you have drivers for the wireless NIC available.

I've used these wireless network adapters successfully on original
Windows 98:

USB: Netgear MA101
Cardbus: Netgear MA401, Microsoft MN-520, SMC 2635W

The SMC 2635W installation program says that the card won't work, but
it installed and worked successfully in my tests.

According to their web pages, these adapters should work on original
Windows 98, too:

USB: Netgear MA111
Cardbus: Orinoco Classic Gold PC Card
PCI: Netgear MA311, Orinoco 11b
