Taskmon keeps track of your most frequently used programs so that their
files can be sorted by defrag so those programs open faster (assumes you have that option set in defrag). ScriptBlocking: It is not clear what this might be--do a find on google.com and do some research. -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo "Iqbal" wrote in message ... If Norton Anti-Virus is installed, ScriptBlocking (SBServ.exe) is part of it.

-----Original Message----- Hi, i am trying to cut back on the no. of programs running at strat up. I have cut down on a few already. Hi. read your post. taskmon is where you setup different tasks to be preformed on your pc at certain time intervals. You do not really need this to run all the time.If you want to scandisk, defragment, etc.you can do so by going to programs, system tools and then clicking on the one you want to perform. If you like to keep your hard drive as free as possible on disk space, you can set that too. But to answer your question. No, you do not need it to run all the time. |

Wrong, TaskMon is a proggie which monitors the visible running programs, both foreground (buttons, and systray icons) and background (items w/out taskbar buttons or systray icons). You are thinking of Task Scheduler Scheduling Tasks The Scheduled Task Wizard enables you to run important utilities such as ScanDisk, Disk Defragmenter, and Backup at regular intervals.
