Default Mouse (PS/2) problem

Hi,

My PS/2 Mouse(Mercury) suddenly started
malfunctioning.Although,In system/Device Manager
Tab,properties of the Mouse showing no conflict or other
problem and stating
"This device is working properly".The only problem with
the mouse is
that the cursor of the mouse is became "Stand Still". It
is not moving
at all.other features of the mouse is OK. Right click is
responding,
scrolling wheel is also working, even left mouse click is
working, too.
i.e if any icon on the desktop is selected from
keyboard,when clicking
the left button once where the cursor became hanged (it is
at the middle of the screen),
the icon is becoming at unselect mode.I have tried my best
to solve the problem
(cleaning the mouse wheels by opening it) but it
ruined.Plz help me.
