Default "C" drive folders and icons

In Windows Explorer- Under the heading "folders" I click
on "c" drive & the folders & icons appear on the right.
Most of the folders & icons appear in good color. Some of
each appear faded and have a dotted outline around them.
I have been noticing some "glitches" but have worked
around them somehow. I was also unable to install nortons
internet security 2004. Problems popped up with every
thing. I don't recall seeing the faded items before and I
am wondering if this is a prelude to something bad. Can
anyone help.

This is the normal way Win98 displays folders
that have been set "Hidden," as you see by
select and Right Click / Properties.

Cannot advise on Norton since I do not trust or use
this software.

No: normal, see above.

What are these "glitches"? Possibly caused by a virus? If it is a virus =
then that would explain why NIS will not install, many viruses =
disable/block any AV apps from working/installing. What were the error =
codes presented during install and did you look them up on Symantec's =
site?
http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/nis...004_tasks.html
=20
Another possibility is you tried to install NIS with another version of =
NAV/NIS still installed, this will produce all types of problems. =
Symantec products do not play well when installed while other versions =
are present.

Trust is not an issue on how the program works in detection/removal =
which is very good. The issue is how well it plays with the different =
machines setups. Some can handle it and others can't.
