Default Windows tool bar buttons error

I am using Windows Me. It crashed while I was using the
internet explore. After rebooting it, the symbol marks
were changed to numbers and Greek letters. At the top left
corner, "_, square, x" for "minimize, maximize, close"
were changed to "0, 2, half size of 0(?)". This half size
of zero may be a Greek letter. I saw "sigma" was used in a
different tool bar. In the scroll bar, the downward
triangle for moving down is now "5", and the upward
triangle for moving up is "6". In "My favorite" list, the
sideway triangle is "8". Could anyone help me fix this
problem?

Your first action would be to try running System Restore and roll-back to
before your crash and see if that clears the problem.

If not, this solution *might* work for you:-

Try:- "Description of and Troubleshooting the Marlett TrueType Font"
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[LN];134861

If the first part of the article doesn't fix it, note and try the section
near the bottom page, referring to the maximum number of fonts and the
suggestion of deleting the ttfcache file.

HTH and good luck
