update prblems

I tried to install the update for i.e 6 service pack and
the setup would not install successfully. I got a message:
"It appears you have the correct setup files but the
installation failed. Try closing down all other programs
and try running setup again. If that still does not work,
contact Microsoft product support service for additional
help"

Can anyone help me????

Try cleaning out your TEMP folder (c:\windows\temp) and also emptying
the Temporary Internet Files (Control Panel - Internet Options -
General - Delete Files). Select the "Delete all offline content box"
and then click on OK.

Shut down your antivirus software.

Then try the update again.

Remember to turn your antivirus back on again after the update is
finished.
