I don't think the format has much to do with it, but perhaps. Sounds like
you have to at least find the Georgia font and install it. If you feel safe doing so, you can send the files to me and I'll see what I can do. Converting things is something I have to do regularly, and my collection of fonts is pretty large. PS. Please do not use ALL CAPS. It is traditionally seen as shouting, besides being difficult to read. -- Gary S. Terhune MS MVP for Win9x "SCOTT MORTON" wrote in message ... The fonts are different in the converted document. Documents created in other word-processing programs may contain fonts you don't have installed on your computer. It seems to be a bit deeper of an issue, Brian, if even after opening the
document the user can't change the font. There's more to this than meets the eye. -- Gary S. Terhune MS MVP for Win9x "Brian A." GoneFishn@aFarAwayLake wrote in message ... It may still be a compatibility/converter issue. What now leaves me to wonder is who
(person), or what (printer or other text editor), installed the Georgia/n font. My Win98SE does not have it, MS Office 95 Pro does not have it, MS Office 97 Pro does not have it. My Win XP Pro has it as does MS Office XP. -- Brian A. Jack of all trades, Master of none. One can never truly be a master as there is always more to learn. "Gary S. Terhune" wrote in message ... Well, according to a quick search in KB, here's a (probably incomplete) list
of packages that include it: Age of Mythology FrontPage 98 Publisher98 Office2K IE 5 and up The OP did say "Georgian", not Georgia... Perhaps an Eastern European font? -- Gary S. The first hit will take you to MS page where you can download (free) a program that will open Word95 documents. Your problem does not appear to be a lack of a font but more likely is a file format problem although I am surprised that Word97 won't open a Word95 document. If the Word Viewer doesn't open your file then you probably have a corrupted document. |
