Default HH.EXE

I was having problems with my computer and I think at one
point I may have had a virus.
Loaded Norton System works and got rid of a few programs
that I wasn't using.
Now when I click on my start key and try and access help I
get a message that says "Can't find or run the file or
program HH.exe
I am on windows 98.
So how do I get back this file HH.EXE so I can access
help.

1. Start Run, type: sfc
2. Select the option to restore a single file
3. If you have the Windows CD, set the "Restore From" location to D:\WIN98
(where D is your CD-Rom)

This is not working.

I type the sfc from the start run and then I choose the
Extract one file from installation disk and it says to
specify the system file you would like to restore, in this
box I typed the d:\win98 and clicked on start but then a
box opens up and says "you must select the file to extract
before clicking on start"

What am I missing?

I am not to computer literate to please explain more.

No, the file you want to extract is "hh.exe", the Restore From location is
"D:\WIN98", where "D" is your CD-Rom

"Save file in" box should be the folder containing the file you want to
replace. In this case c:\windows

install the HTML Help Update, to reinstall the related files:

Well this kind of worked. I know longer get the missing
HH.EXE message but now when I click on Start and click
Help nothing happens.
