for that group and my Rogers one for genealogy ones, and yet another addie
on here......none of which are valid. I even sometimes use another

OK, Loon......you were right!! What a PITA that thorough scandisk is!!

I have a bizarro system I think. I was in SAFE MODE and the damn
screensaver came on (which guru said it doesn't when you are in Safe Mode)
and then every cotton-picking time it hit a bad patch, it started over. And
then the screen came up saying it had restarted 10 times, etc. Thought that
didn't happen in SM either.

I had 1,182,244 clusters.....got up to 140,000 in an hour. It stopped 10
times by 91,000 and then just twice more and I said (well, I won't say what
I said, grin) and ran a defrag and got outta there.

Btw, gurus......do you do the whole thing? (system and data) Or just the
data once you run a regular scandisk on the system folders. I have never
tried running a thorough one before.....I remember how long it took with my
Win95 1.5 gig HD.....and this one is 40 gig???

Impatient Figgs.

I picked it up from my ISP news server but at the moment I can't post, if
I try it just times out, got to do a bit more digging to get it to work

That is why I have 3 of them on the German news server.....my ISP was
falling down on the job at one point (plus it didn't have the antivirus one
for a long time) and I still had the set up for it on here. It is usually
more reliable than Rogers. But the one drawback is you have to use a *real*
address....so you would have to set up a spam trap one with Hotmail or some
such. I believe you can use Privacy dot something or other.

I can send you the link to join up on it.....it is free. The new name is
News.Individual.NET.

Hey, you are having a heat wave over there......Elayne leaves for Paris
tomorrow morning and hopes it will not be 30+.

Cheers.....Heather
