Windows XP Lag
I have an IBM Thinkpad T43 and when any user log on's to the computer,
it just stays at the logon screen after entering the password for about 3 minutes before the desktop is loaded. A work around i have found is that if i disable all the network connections I am able to logon to the computer, with no problem. I am not sure which setting or service or what not is causing this to slow up the computer so much. Thanks. |

Windows XP Lag
This is generally due to bad DNS settings on the PC - it should be using
only the domain DNS for name resolution, not an ISP's DNS server. If you need more help hit the Windows XP Networking newsgroup for folks who specialize in this kind of problem. -- Richard G.
