Default slow printing

I use win 98 and have a HP deskjet 612c. It seems to be
stuck in "high quality" mode and prints vey slowly. I have
reinstalled the driver from the CD that came with the
printer. Any ideas?

Go to the printer properties (right click printer and choose properties).
Then you will see several tabs depending on the driver installed. For my
HP, there is a tab that says "Paper/Quality". Look for something similar.
On that page, under Print Quality, there is a drop down arrow that gives me
several choices from fast draft to maximum dpi.

Choose a lower quality than is currently set and click Okay or Apply.
