Nero refuses to burn on CD-R

Hello,

This may not be the most appropriate group, but I can't find a better
one, if you no of one could you please advise...


On my Windows 98SE machine, Nero 6 expects a CD-R/RW to brun to when I
have put a CD-R in the drive. I've spent days trying all sorts of
things, including different discs, presumable all possible setting in
Nero, and the available settings in the device manager for CDROM and
Hard disk controllers. Is there any other place where I should look, or
does anyone know of an obvious cause of the problem?
