Default Windows 98 second edition

I have a dual boot system with Win. 98 and Xp Pro. A
problem has occured in Win. 98 after it boots up. The
system hangs and the HD sounds like it is turning on and
off. This only happens in Win. 98. I never encounter this
type of problem. Does anyone have a solution?
