PA Bear,

I did the defrag tonight. It only took me 47 minutes. I did the defrag 16
days ago and had uninstalled programs and installed and reinstalled some.
I did not Run Disk Cleanup as you had suggested. I just made sure that no
programs were running. I had done the Scandisk before the defrag. No
problems. Just thought you and others should know.

Buffalo, I was also wondering if it was legal to use the Windows ME defragger
with Windows 98 Second Edition or is it necessary from a legal standpoint to
get Microsoft's permission?

You can call 1-800-RU-LEGIT (1-800-785-3448)to report any type of piracy
involving any Microsoft product.

ROFL!!

I never saw any reason to do Disk Cleanup before I ran the defrag. All I can
say is, 12 hours, give or take a few minutes to run the Disk Cleanup, seems
to be an awfully long time, when less than an hour for me to run defrag is
all that it takes. I would rather do the defrag using the suggestions in a
previous post in this string. You are welcome to try the instructions.

Actually, we should wait for MEB to answer that question.

No - wait.

He'll just say he already answered it.

Dan, you have my permission to use the Win-me defrag.

Thank you for the information, Brian. I really appreciate the phone number
and that was what I was looking for in this case.

What question? Let me guess, you never read the prior posts, never looked
at the rulings, and as usual, never bothered to check on your own..
Does that answer YOUR question?

There is a term that was used for people such as you, it went something
like READ THE F___ing manual, or in your case, RTFPAC.

| Dan, you have my permission to use the Win-me defrag.

Really,,, so who made you GOD... or Microsoft's legal representative.

as you can see by other posts,, winME defrag is far superior to 98's..... it has been a known
fact while mum was still wipin' your bum.
if you think micro is gonna start taking out law suits against all those that use one of their
products to enhance another of their products, then........ umm, gee,, wot can i say danny
boy. (cept',, 'the pipes, the pipes are callin''''''')
anyhow, now you got the phone number, and you can call them and chew their ears off with your
claims........ guess i'll cya in court..... bwwwwwwwaaaaaahahahaahaaha.
(ps,, you n' i both know you have Every single ph' no' of micros call centers,,,, and i'm sure you
are on a first blame basis with all..... hee hee. i reckon they all take bets on how many times
a day you will call,,, maybe i should call one day just to get in on the action......
TWIT)

Dan, why don't you personally call MS and find out before you start your
'holier than thou' preaching.

PS: I have yet to read in a NG where ME defrag caused a problem in Win98SE
because it wasn't designed for it.
