Default OE6 and ME

I was wondering if this might be the case so I've been watching this thread.

It sounds like someone reinstalled WinME without having first uninstalled
IE6, so do NOT attempt to reinstall/overinstall IE6! I'm crossposting this
reply to WinME General newsgroup. The experts there will be able to assist
you in getting this sorted out.

I hesitate to recommend IE7 'cause I'm having some problems with it.

OE6 will work fine with ME. It is part of IE6, so that is what you need
to
download.

Make sure OE is backed up first, just in case.

Maine,

If you want OE6 back, try

Control Panel Add/Remove Programs double-click Microsoft Internet
Explorer seled "Add a component" tick Outlook Express Next follow
the prompts and reboot when finished.

You may need internet acces to reinstall OE6.

Good luck.

Maine (and Zee),

I've not been following your original threads but did notice the mention of
WinMe and IE 5/6. *Perhaps* the following link to Noel Paton's Crashfixpc
link *might* also help.

Good luck

Mart,

It seems IE is on v. 6 but OE is on v. 5.

OE6 is part of the IE6 package, hence my belief that it will be possible to
"upgrade" to OE6 through the IE6 "Add a component" option.

But... will keep my fingers crossed!
;-)

Sorry Robear, didn't see you on the list (do now!) g but thanks (and Zee)
for endorsing my suggestion. Let's just hope that it is the solution to
Maine's problems. Whatever happened to Noel?

Whatever happened to Noel?

Don't really know. He hasn't been answering his mobile and he hasn't
replied to a couple of letters I sent him around Christmas time.

I also tried to reach him late last year via email, but to no avail.
He never answered. Haven't got a clue.

Harry.
