Default WinMe and OE6 Address Book

C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book

Files:-
ADDRBOOK WAB 2,263,397 28/04/09 17:31
ADDRBOOK WA~ 213,166 27/04/09 19:38
DEFAULT WAB 379,834 24/11/06 4:20
DEFAULT WA~ 203,448 15/06/09 1:46

Do the files with ext .WA~ have any value or could
be deleted.
Advice appreciated?

AAH,

The wa~ files are backups or rather copies of the address book prior to when
it was last changed however although the dates for your addrbook.wab and
addrbook.wa~ are less than a day apart the older backup file is
substantially smaller, less than 10% of the current copy which seems
somewhat odd unless you spent a considerable amount of time on 28 April
adding items to your address book.

I'm also somewhat intrigued that your default wab is so much older than its
back-up default.wa~.

Personally I wouldn't bother deleting the wa~ files as you will most likely
find they return when you next make a change to your address book.

Mike
Thanks for your advice.
The oldest file is one of the earlier backups.
