Default add/remove programs not visible

I am trying to remove a program but when the Add/Remove Programs Properties
window opens it does not show any programs in the install window?

I was installing a network card and failed to pull the floppy out on the
reboot.

Would an application recovery do me any good?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Presumably, the program you want to remove is the one associated with your
network card.

As the installation was incomplete, your program won't have installed
properly so the bulk of the 'installation' was likely to have been placed in
a temporary folder which by now, has probably deleted itself leaving little
or no 'residue'. Hence, no sign of it in Add/Remove Programs.

However, your best plan is to remove your network card, run System Restore
and roll-back to the last time/date before you started to install the card.

When completed, then start over again by re-installing your network card,
remembering to pull the floppy this time g

I doubt very much that yuor floppy had anything to do with the probelm with
Add/Remove Programs

Here's Alan Edwards' usual spiel on this common problem.
All Installed Programs May Not Be Displayed in the Add/Remove Programs
Tool
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=240348

I have fixed several of these recently for others.
The problem will occur in these two situations:

1. The uninstall keyname for an application is greater than 63
characters.
Solution: Rename the keyname.
e.g. this is invalid
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall\123*4567890123456789012345678 901234567890123456789012345678901234]

2. The DisplayName for the key is greater than 63 characters.
Solution: Shorten DisplayName
e.g. this is invalid
"DisplayName"="12345678901234567890123456789012345 6789012345678901234567890*1234"

If you need a second opinion, export the key to a text file and email
it to me.

*** Note that the invalid entry that can cause this is not necessarily
connected with the ones missing so you must check all entries.
