Default How do I change the primary user?

I was just starting to load names and passwords in the user section. As my
son was going out the door I grabbed him and had him put his username and
password in the user box. Then I added mine and my daughters.
Now when I boot up my sons username and blank password pop up before
windows loads. I click okay and windows loads. I tried going into the users
box and deleting my sons username but I'm not the primary user. (My son is so
pleased).
So how do I change my son from the primary user to me as the primary user?
Thank-you for your time and trouble. Michael Hyatt

There is probably an easier way to do this, however, what you are seeking
should be attainable from the following Microsoft KB article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/156826/EN-US/
How to Disable and Delete User Profiles
Hope that helps...........

Well Ive got to admit it looked good. The regedit worked fine. But the next
instruction " Use Windows Explorer to remove the appropriate
Windows\Profiles\Username folders. To remove all profiles, remove the
Windows\Profiles folder." cannot be done. Each time I try to delete the
Windows\Profiles folder I get a notice that" This is a Windows system file,
it can not be moved or deleted." Well it was a nice try. Thank-you Michael

Try rebooting - then deleting the profile folders (not sure it'll work, and
don't have a box to hand to try it on)

Odd.......did you disable the User Profiles first? My suspicion is that
the Reg Key was not removed or was replaced after removal. The Profiles
folder should be empty after completing the first steps.
I can't verify what I am telling you because I don't have a Profiles folder
on my machine. Hopefully, one of the gurus will jump in here and set us
straight.

Disable the profiles first? Ah, no, I don't think so. If I remember
correctly my first step was regedit and after that didn't work I went through
the disable user profiles next.
I'll try it in the proper order: Thanks for straightening me out.

Been out for a few days.......sorry for the delayed answer. Sure glad you
got it worked out. I had to spend a while getting my email to work after
returning from my trip. Seems the eTrust EZ AV update (which I did before
checking email) was causing the failure......finally got it
straight.....hate it when things don't work as expected!!!
Heirloom, old and good on ya
