Sandra,

I have to assume that you did not read my post on the subject of your
system.ini file that I posted on 13 April at 10.31 GMT in which I said
that everything before [Password Lists] in the copy of system.ini you
posted on 13 April at 7.21 GMT could safely be deleted.

Thank you Mike!

Can you give me instructions on how to remove these files. I tried but then
it states changes will not be effective until you restart your computer. I
restart it but they are still there. So I know I'm not doing it right. Thank
you for your time and help.

Default Trying to get computer back to normal

Sandra,

They aren't files but are characters in a text document. Double click on
the file system.ini which is in your Windows folder, it will open in
notepad and then all you need to do is use the delete key to remove the
unwanted entries and then save the amended document. Alternatively, but
not as good, is to uncheck the unwanted lines in MSConfig | System.ini.

If they won't delete then the problem is quite possibly, as Noel has
already stated, that the system.ini file is cross-linked with bootlog.txt.
You can check this by running scandisk.

Mike and/or Noel

I deleted them. I then rechecked the msconfig - system.ini. They were all
gone. Finally! So that takes care of all my problems that i had. Thank you so
much. You have really helped me. Your help and time is greatly appreciated. I
just hope that one day I can help someone like you guys helped me.

Sandra,

I'm pleased to read that you have now sorted out your system. Hopefully
you won't have further problems but if you do you know where to find us.
We'll be around here for a bit yet although with the drop in numbers using
Win Me we probably won't be looking in as often as in the past.

Cheers and best wishes,
