You might have some problem in the bat file.
Right-Click the file and select "Edit".
Then copy-paste the contents to your OE and send it here, please.

Hi, i am using windows 98 and i am trying to run a .BAT file. when i double
click to run the .BAT file, i get the following error:

"The file c:\windows\command.com is not a valid ms-dos program file. It may
be damaged."

what does this mean and how can it be resolved.

Perhaps if you post the contents of the bat file, someone will be able to help
more.
Perhaps that .bat file needs to be run in DOS.

Probably it means exactly what it says.

There is another copy of COMMAND.COM in your root directory, and it's good,
else Windows would not come up. The two should be identical. If they're
different, copy the one from your root directory (which we know is good) into
your WINDOWS directory, replacing the bad one.
