Photo Editor cannot recognise JPE file format

Hello,

I sometimes have got some JPE files and when double clicking it, photoeditor
will be opened automatically, but it will say "unable to recognise this file
format".

I've tried just renaming the extension to jpg, it then can open it alright.

So any way to be able to opent jpe files in photoeditor directly without
having to change the extension?
