Default Flash Player

First, forgive if I'm posting in the wrong NG, but I could not find an
NG for Flash Player.

I used to have Flash Player, I think, but am not sure. Does anyone
know how to find out if I have Flash Player Installed and the version?

If you go to the Adobe web site, somewhere in there there was a page that
let you test your system to see what version you have (I think it was the
support link).

I recall I had to spend a bit of time navigating around there, too, to find
the Flash Player version test site and the right page to get it to install,
so you're not alone there.

If you have IE 6 that will be fine.

Lately have been going crazy trying to install Flash Player from the
Adobe site but can't get it to install. When I click on the install
button, I wait and wait but nothing happens; no activity at all from
the lights on the case.

Tonight I was reading the following from the Adobe site:

Platform Browser

Microsoft Windows 98 Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5, Firefox 1.x,
Mozilla 1.x, Netscape 7.x or later, AOL 9, Opera 7.11 or later

http://www.adobe.com/products/flashp...fo/systemreqs/

It says that for Windows 98 ( I have Win 98 SE), you need IE 5.5, but
I have IE 6. Could this be the reason I cannot install this damned
thing? I've tried for months, but in vain.

I think I had the Player when I had IE 5.5 about a year ago.

Thanks to all.
