Default Printer sharing help needed please

I wish to install a network printer (attached to a WINXP machine) on my
WINME machine.

The printer (Epson R300) won't show as a network resource despite being
shared - can be seen on other XPs in the network.
The shared folders of the R300s XP can be seen on my ME machine but the
printer won't show.
I can see a different printer attached to one of the other XPs on the ME
machine.

Can't make sense of it, can anyone help me get the R300 to show?

Thanks for any time you spen don this.

Make sure that the printer's share name isn't longer than 12
characters. If it is, XP will be able to see it, but ME won't.
