Default Adobe Reader V6 Caution

Hi,

If you install AR6 (Adobe Reader V6), make sure you click on "Edit",
"Preferences", select "Update" and change "Check for Updates" to
"manually" (default is "automatically").

I failed to do this. Now I believe this was the root cause of my FF 3.6
browser constantly going to "Check Your Plugins" page on the web.

My first post, "Adobe Reader V6 Side Effect" after installing AR6 is
correct if you do not change "Check for Update" to "manually".

I thought I got rid of the problem and reported what I did in my next
post, "Update Regarding FF3.6 going to "Check Your Plugins" Page on Web".

PROBLEM RETURNED:

Well the problem came back because today I visited a web site that
launched AR6. Note: For several days on the web, no web site spawned AR6
after I removed FF3.6 and personal settings, then re-installed FF3.6.

PROBLEM FIXED FOR GOOD, I HOPE:

After I changed, in AR6, "Check for Update" to "manually", I removed
(un-installed) FF3.6, including personal settings. I restarted the computer,
then I installed FF3.6, and made my personal settings via "Options".

I am sorry to anyone I may have misled by my previous post(s) regarding
this issue.

John
