HELP! Desktop disappears when I click on it, can't click on icons
I've searched on the internet for an answer as to why I can no longer
click and open the icons on my desktop, but I haven't found an answer. The icons don't move or anything, but the whole desktop disappears and all you see is the wallpaper, then it goes back to normal. However, I am able to access programs using my keyboard, but programs will randomly close, and they give no warning. I've scanned for trojans and viruses, and I did find one called bluebot, but I was able to get rid of it, and it seems that that wasn't the problem. I even did a second scan, and nothing came up. Restarting the computer doesn't fix it, not even temporarily. |

Bluebot is neither a trojan nor virus, but a mobile marketing system, using Bluetooth technology to transmit multimedia content to any mobile phone. You may not have removed the entire program, or something else is at fault for your failure. Using Tweak UI to rebuild icons might be worth a try. If no joy, wait for better advice. Harry. |

HELP! Desktop disappears when I click on it, can't click on icons
I can't download it... the file download freezes whenever I try to
start it. I think the condition is getting worse... Restarting it made it freeze too. It's going a lot slower. I did another TrojanHunter scan and it told me that Port 5180 was open and that Peeper.120 uses that line. But I think AIM uses that too, because after I closed AIM and did another scan it said there were no open ports. On Jan 29, 8:25 pm, "webster72n" wrote: wrote in ooglegroups.com... You cannot download what, Rebeka? Tweak UI perhaps? Try to be more specific. Someone will be able to help you, I'm sure. Harry. "Rebeka" wrote in message oups.com... Yes, I can't download Tweak UI, the computer won't let me.
Is there another way to be sure that I've completly gotten rid of the Bluetooth technology? On Jan 29, 9:39pm, "webster72n" wrote: You cannot download what, Rebeka? Tweak UI perhaps? HELP! Desktop disappears when I click on it, can't click on icons
Rebeka:
If you want to find all connected files, you would have to search for them with your facility in Start/Search and delete them manually, using the program name for the search. Did you use Add/Remove Programs for deletion of the program in the first place? My assumption is , you did. The Tweak UI program was mentioned to take care of the icon issue. Hopefully someone else can come to your rescue here. Harry. "Rebeka" wrote in message oups.com... Yes, I can't download Tweak UI, the computer won't let me. No, unfortunatly the computer won't let me have access to the Add/
Remove program. When I try to it says "An error occured while Windows was working with the Control Panel file C:\WINDOWS\System\APPWIZ.CPL" and then it closes. Well, thanks for trying anyway. Don't give up yet, Rebeka. APPLWIZ is a system file and it may be corrupt. Can you use System restore? If so, try to restore to a date just before your trouble started. See if it works. Harry.
