unable to connect to some URL's
I've recently upgraded my OE/IE from 5.5 to 6.=20
Previously, I had no problems with connections, just a few error = messages on some sites that weren't 5.5 friendly, but that was it.=20 Since upgrade, I'm now having problems when trying to connect to links = listed in newsletters, links listed on Google, and some shortcut links listed on websites. When I click to = access a site, it says that its Opening and connecting to website, then = it says Website found, then it says wait for reply, then goes back to = the Opening, the connecting to, and the website found... but it never = connects. Went to the Update page and there was a patch for this problem, which I = installed. No luck. Tried the repair option for IE, didn't help Checked settings......even turned off firewall to see if that was = problem....no luck turned off virus protection......no luck Ran a defrag, a scan disk, cleaned out temps.......no luck I am only able to access the links if I do a copy of the addy into a = blank compose message and put the setting to rich text, past into edit, = and then go to Preview and click on the link. Seems a rather round about = way to get onto a website, but its the only way I've figured out how to = access something that the IE won't access. Do you have any other suggestions how I might fix this problem other = than simply working around it? Thank you for any help with this matter. Bev |

Have you run CWShredder, AdAware and Spybot?
