Scan Disk run without automatic error fix checked
I ran Scandisk a while ago with the automatically fix erros box unchecked' This is the logfile from that test' Microsoft ScanDisk for Windows NOTE: If you use an MS-DOS program to view this file, some of the characters may appear incorrectly. Use a Windows program such as Notepad instead. Log file generated at 23:11 on 5/18/2004. ScanDisk used the following options: Standard test Check dates and times Drive Vf2us0n (C contained the following errors: The C:\WINDOWS\APPLIC~1\MACROM~1\FLASHP~1 \MACROM~1.COM\SUPPORT\FLASHP~1 folder could not be opened in MS-DOS mode because its complete short name was longer than 66 characters. Resolution: Ignore this error and continue Results: Error was corrected as specified above. The C:\WINDOWS\APPLIC~1\MACROM~1\FLASHP~1 \MACROM~1.COM\SUPPORT\FLASHP~1\SYS folder could not be opened in MS-DOS mode because its complete short name was longer than 66 characters. Resolution: Ignore this error and continue Results: Error was corrected as specified above. The C:\WINDOWS\APPLIC~1\MACROM~1\FLASHP~1 \MACROM~1.COM\SUPPORT\FLASHP~1\SYS\#TURNE~1.COM folder could not be opened in MS-DOS mode because its complete short name was longer than 66 characters. Resolution: Ignore this error and continue Results: Error was corrected as specified above. The C:\WINDOWS\APPLIC~1\MACROM~1\FLASHP~1 \MACROM~1.COM\SUPPORT\FLASHP~1\SYS\#LOCAL folder could not be opened in MS-DOS mode because its complete short name was longer than 66 characters. Resolution: Ignore this error and continue Results: Error was corrected as specified above. The C:\WINDOWS\APPLIC~1\MACROM~1\FLASHP~1 \MACROM~1.COM\SUPPORT\FLASHP~1\SYS\#FARTS.COM folder could not be opened in MS-DOS mode because its complete short name was longer than 66 characters. Resolution: Ignore this error and continue Results: Error was corrected as specified above. The C:\WINDOWS\APPLIC~1\MACROM~1\FLASHP~1 \MACROM~1.COM\SUPPORT\FLASHP~1\SYS\#PQUINN.COM folder could not be opened in MS-DOS mode because its complete short name was longer than 66 characters. Resolution: Ignore this error and continue Results: Error was corrected as specified above. The C:\WINDOWS\APPLIC~1\MACROM~1\FLASHP~1 \MACROM~1.COM\SUPPORT\FLASHP~1\SYS\#SUPPO~1.UK folder could not be opened in MS-DOS mode because its complete short name was longer than 66 characters. Resolution: Ignore this error and continue Results: Error was corrected as specified above. ScanDisk did not find any errors on this drive. As you can see it seem's all the errors were in MSDOS and all related to Macromedia Flash Player'And this time around I ignored them all.My question's are'are all these files safe to simply delete and even if so is there a better way to go about fixing these errors than deleting the files in question and even another question is would I have to delete them in MSDOS Mode since that's the mode the errors effect? Also is there a way I can prevent Macromedia Flash from making so many character's in it's MSDOS file names? Thanks in advance for any input on this. |

Scan Disk run without automatic error fix checked
I don't think there is any way to prevent Macromedia from

Scan Disk run without automatic error fix checked
Thanks for the response Ben actually unless MSDos name
errors involving to many characters can affect the performance of the system I probably wont worry about them'I noticed that when I change scandisk back to automatically fix errors it didnt find the previous errors even though I never fixed or changed them in any way,I felt I should ask about that and the DOS mode errors since I'm really not sure what they say about my systems performance. Once again thanks for your fast response. -----Original Message----- I don't think there is any way to prevent Macromedia from creating these folders and if you delete or change them, it might not work properly.
