Default mouse

You people have been a real help. I still have some
Mystery folders, shutdown problems, and my sound goes on
vacation more often than my Doctor plays golf. But all in
all this thing is starting to do what I want it to do.I
got all the way through a post on acquiring 98SE, and
partway through the Norton poll before it locked up. Now I
learn that my mouse is worn out. Maybe,it is all of 6
weeks old. It doesn't scroll right. It's not very
expensive, (Microsoft Wheel),I inquired about it at
Staples and they told me that they all wear out and get
loose, no matter how much they cost. They told me to buy an
optical one. What this has to do with the quality of the
wheel is beyond me.Also I found out that there really is a
problem with the Intell.software.for the mouse. It thinks a
cat is after it and runs back to the last page visited
when I click the wheel. Thanks,Bob. hc@gc

Default mouse

Mouses do wear out, but not in 6 weeks. "Back" is a common default for a
wheel click - if you want to change it your mouse software gives options for
doing that. An optical mouse doesn't have a rolling ball, and that makes it
more reliable and less prone to dirt problems.

I undestand the ball part, use them at work,I work in auto

dealership and the ones we use to connect cars directly to
GM website get really filthy sometimes. But the wheel
itself is the same as mine. What gets me is I can take a
hand held computer, hook it to a car, then to one of our
shop computers, then beam that through our wirless network
to Gm and reprogram the auto's computers and modules, why
can't I get this thing to work for more than 10 minutes at
a time. I'll admit this thing is old,but it works fine if
I'm offline. Most of my problems are internet or update
related. (or what we at work refer to as,"OWNER OPPERATOR
ERROR") THANKS Bob. hc@gc

I have an intelli optical mouse as well,it wasnt cheap about 3 months ago .
It really is annoying the red light goes out and i get a beep.
When you are playing like a war game it really is annoying,i have done all
the updates you can think of,uninstalled drivers,re-installed them.I am about
to throw it right out the window.
