Default Installing and Using a HP 2175 All In One

Good Day

I'm having difficulty installing an HP 2175 printer onto a
PII running Windows 98. The installation proceeds error
free, but the printer remains unidentified within the
operating system. All Plug and Play files are loaded into
the Device Manager, system configuration, except for a
Printer Support entry. This should occur within the
Universal Serial Bus controller.

I spoken with HP and essentially they say, it's not their
problem. Microsoft does not support 98 any more, but I
did find a entry on their web site, that said plug and
printers are a "know" problem. Any suggestions would be
appreciated. Thanks

There is a driver on the HP site with an April 2004 timestamp, maybe newer than
yours. Firmware and a cleanup utility is also available. Also many support documents.

Good Day

Thank You Mary for the information. I have already
executed the steps outlined on the HP web site, but to no
avail. However, you speak of a firmware update that might
help solve the problem. Where exactly on the WEB do I go
to for this. Again, Thank You for taking the time to
point me in a direction of a possible solution.
