Default Dial Up Adapter Missing

In Network setup, seeking the simplest
internet connection, Microsoft TCP/IP
is available OK but simple Dial Up Adapter
is not listed (among either Protocols
or Devices) -- although I am sure it was
there last week. . . .

So what do I do now ?

Control panel, network, click add button, select Adapter and click add
button, in left pane select Microsoft, in the right panel select Dial Up
Adapter and click OK.

My error -- seeing all those names of modem
hardware manufacturers, I did not look carefully
enough. RB, I owe you a big drink.
