Default Can't print emails

For some reason I cannot print any email in OE 6. This is what I get :
An error has occurred on the script on this page
Line 228
Char 1
Error interface not registered
Code 0
URL res://C:\Windows\SystemSHDOCLC.DLL/preview.dlg

I have Windows 98 SE. I have tried google for solutions, have not found any
that helped. I ran system file checker , and no damaged files.

When did this start, after you installed some software?
Just recently? Can you backtrack to the time?

The reason I ask is maybe you installed some software which
fouled things up, or opened an attachment with some
nastiness inside.

I don't open anything unless I know who it is from, even then I scan it
first with anti virus software. As for software, it might be the problem
but I don't know what software , I have installed a few and deinstalled. I
have googled trying to find answers, have tried several ideas but to no
avail. The only thing I can do at this point if I really need to print out
email is to save it as text and then print it.

I reread your post and it sounds like either:

OE needs to be reinstalled,
You need to register/reregider the DLL mentioned in the
statement.
Java has been disabled.

Can you reverse the action?

If nothing else reinstall your OS on top of itself.
