news When the computer boots up I have the driver screens come up on top for the CDROM & the CD burner. How do I stop this from happening. All I did was look for new drivers for my stand alone CD burner. Standard Win98 does not require drivers for either type of CD drive, thus does not load them at boot. (CD R/W drives may benefit from drivers, loaded when RW software is called.) Your "driver screens" may be commands echoing from AUTOEXEC.BAT or CONFIG.SYS during the boot sequence. But standard Win98 installations do not require these files. If present, rename them something else and reboot. You may see what you want. -- Don Phillipson Carlsbad Springs (Ottawa, Canada) |
