Bat File
Hi, i am new to networking and currently running a
workgroup network. i wanted to know what is a BAT file? On the network which i am using, when the machines are booting up they are looking for a .BAT file, which cannot be found. I think i have found the relevant bat file on the server, so how do i apply the changes on the local machines so that they look for that particular bat file which is on the server? Also, out of interest how to i create a BAT file, which can be used in a network, so that all computers use that bat file for desktop settings etc? and how would i implement that bat file on the server? hopes this makes sense. regards |

A batch file (BAT) is nothing more than a series of does commands written in
a text editor like notepad and saved with a BAT file extension. When executed these commands are run one at a time. Many network adminstrators use batch files to run logon scripts to configure user needs. These usually run from a domain controller and not likely being used in a peer to peer or workgroup environment. Steps to fix your specific problem would depend on the file that is being executed and how your computers are configured to run it. wrote in message ...
